Fiddick’s Nursing & Retirement Home, Petrolia, Ontario
Located in Petrolia, just outside of Sarnia, Ontario, Fiddick’s Retirement Home offers both semi-private and private rooms, each with a three-piece en-suite bathroom. Accommodations include common areas like a spacious dining room, lounge, gazebo and manicured courtyard with barbecues. The Nursing Home offers residents a choice of ward, semi-private or private rooms, as well as spacious lounge, dining, and activity areas. Fiddick’s offers a full slate of services, most importantly registered staff available 24 hours to distribute medication to residents and for compassionate nursing care. The ongoing philosophy here is in part to create an atmosphere that feels like home, where residents feel comfortable in engaging in their community, to the best of their physical and mental abilities. Excellence in care has been their mantra since the facility opened in 1978 with 60 beds and one private respite room. The 36-bed Retirement Home opened in 1993, and in 2002 an additional 32 long-term care, private rooms were added. In 2012, a further addition was made to the Nursing Home, all private rooms.
